Who is required to install an IID in Alabama?
Alabama courts and the Department of Forensic Sciences may require an IID following a DUI conviction, particularly for repeat offenses or cases involving a high BAC. Your attorney or court order will specify your exact requirements.
How much does installation cost?
Installation is free on most vehicles with our standard lease agreement. Some vehicles require additional labor. Monthly monitoring fees apply. We guarantee to beat any price from any other ADFS-certified Alabama provider.
Why is the Draeger XT® better than other IID devices?
Most IIDs use semiconductor sensors that can trigger false fails from food, mouthwash, or energy drinks. The Draeger XT® uses electrochemical fuel cell technology - detecting only alcohol - so you never face a false violation or an expensive reset fee.
How long will I need the device?
The duration is set by your court order or ADFS requirement - typically 6 months to 2 years for a first offense, longer for repeat offenses. We track your compliance period and process your removal request when you're eligible.
Is mobile installation service available?
Yes. Mobile installation is available in Mobile, Baldwin, Jefferson, and Shelby Counties. Additional service fees apply for mobile appointments. Call your nearest location to schedule and get current mobile pricing.
What if my vehicle gets locked out?
The Draeger XT® features a remote unlock capability, one of the few IIDs on the market with this technology. If you experience a lockout, call us - no tow truck required.
Do you handle compliance reporting to the ADFS?
Yes. As a certified provider, we submit all required compliance data to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences automatically. You receive an installation certificate at your appointment to verify enrollment.
